Child development experts have studied every phase of growth and that is how they come up with all these gears.

To answer the question: BOTH GEARS ARE NEEDED, NEITHER IS A VALID SUBSTITUTE FOR THE OTHER...but parental choice and financial capabilities determine which one to go for.

This conclusion may make more sense if you have dealt with kids with developmental delay or you have some understanding about Sensory/fine motor/gross motor skills. One cap does not fit all in the development of these skills but the brain is easily adapted to tagging along when the body tries to physically adapt to a situation.

In essence, we can easily skip using a sit in walker, yet Baby Ngozi will still walk or we can skip a sit to stand walker and Ngozi will still walk especially if you use ‘mommy method’: “stand up...pick your biscuit...pick your toy”- brain tags along!
